Missing AAW Emails?
What lands in your inbox (and how to get it)
Not getting emails you expected? First check your spam or junk folder in your email. Often times when switching to a new email provider you need to let your inbox know this isn't junk!
Maybe a few years ago you updated your preference....This happens more than you'd think. If you clicked the unsubscribe link in an email footer — even by accident — that newsletter stops coming. Since we honor every unsubscribe, we can't send you an email asking you to come back. You'll have to re-add yourself.
It's quick and easy, and takes about thirty seconds: log in to Member Compass, go to your profile page, and check the box for the newsletter again. That's it!
Didn't know you could sign up? The newsletter opt-in happens when you set up your account, and it's easy to click right past it. If you missed it, no problem! You can opt into either newsletter any time from your profile page in Member Compass — the same place you'd update your email address, pay an invoice, etc.
We send three different types of emails, and they do different jobs.
Beyond the Bevel — every week, typically on Thursdays. This is our community newsletter, and includes a weekly theme for projects and turning articles, featured turnings, new and reminders, upcoming events, and more. One place to find out everything happen at AAW.
Woodturning Fundamentals — twice a month. This newsletter is focused on beginner to intermediate projects, techniques, and tips, plus pointers to new articles in the Woodturning Fundamentals library. We send out two new articles a month.
AAW News & Events - as needed. An upcoming board election, annual meeting invite, symposium news, changes to member benefits, or something that you should be aware of as a member. This gives you just the need to know information and no projects, tips, tricks, etc.
As a reminder, if you are a new member or previously opted-out of all emails, you have the power to control what you'd like to receive. When you join or update your AAW profile online, you can opt into any of the three (or all). And if you change your mind later, you can adjust them any time from your profile page in Member Compass.
