Woodworking Demonstration
Caprock Canyons State Park - In Person - Woodturning Demo - Kent Crowell, Jim Harris, & others. Come early and have a cup of coffee with the Bison. Hear a presentation about the Texas State Bison herd with Ranger Natalie Smith and staff at the CCSP office, gift shop, pavilion, and nearby rest rooms. We will be promoting the AAW resources as part of a WIT grant and programming. Give Bison 50' of room. Do not pet the Prairie Dogs - They bite.
The uses of mesquites are endless! Come see a woodturner make tree limbs into Christmas Tree ornaments, angels, snowmen, spinning tops, wood pens, or tiny earrings with mesquite and other Texas hardwoods from start to finish. Kent Crowell, a retired Master Industrial Arts teacher with a 55-year background, will have a display table of sample woodturnings. Many projects can be completed in under 15 minutes. Come see our Roy Underhill treadle lathe to be featured at the NRHC 12/11-12/26. AAWinfo
