Dear AAW supporter,
AAW's annual Educational Opportunity Grant auction raises money that will be used to provide cash grants to AAW members and chapters. Your participation in this important program is critical to our success and is very much appreciated.
All wood art pieces that are submitted (see submission form below) for display on the AAW website prior to the AAW symposium in Hartford will be available for pre-symposium online viewing and absentee bidding through this link, beginning in March 2010. This is a great opportunity to have your work viewed by site visitors, and collectors who normally would not attend the symposium.
All EOG auction pieces must be delivered at the artist’s expense to the symposium, arriving no later than Saturday morning, June 19, 2010. If the artist can not physically deliver the piece, it may be shipped to:
Jerry Sambrook
104 S. Loomis St.
Southwick, MA 01077-9441
jsambrook@comcast.net
413-569-0543
Jerry has asked that persons shipping items to him, first send an email, letting him know something is coming. Jerry will email the person back when the item arrives.
Pieces delivered at the symposium, but not previewed on the website, will be treated the same as the online preview pieces.
All items will be placed in the “Silent Auction” and at 1:30 PM on Saturday, June 19th, the 70 pieces that have received the highest "silent" bids will be advanced to the live auction at the banquet. The bidding in the live auction on these pieces will begin with the last bid received before the “Silent Auction” ended and will be sold to the highest bidder. All pieces not included in the 70 top pieces, will be sold to the highest bidder in the “Silent Auction” as of 1:30 PM. Saturday.
Artists who participate in our online preview must indicate on this form (below) whether their piece is a 100% donation to the AAW or if they want the sale proceeds to be split 50/50 between the artist and the AAW. If the sale is 50/50, then the AAW shall pay the artist's share within 90 days after the close of the symposium.
If you need assistance, or have any questions about this process, please contact the AAW webmaster by email.
