AAW membership operates on an anniversary cycle. Your membership will start with your join date and continue for one year. You will receive six issues of the American Woodturner, starting with the issue published after your join/renew date. The American Woodturner, is published every other month and depending on your join/renew date your first issue will be received in one to seven weeks. All membership benefits will be in effect for one year.

Member type - "Online" ($38 per year):

- American Woodturner and Resource Directory will not be mailed to "Online" members. Your access to these resources will be through the AAW website. Note that the "online" American Woodturner may only be viewed through an active internet connection.
- AAW membership cards will be supplied in a self-print format via email or through the members area of the website - logon required.
Member type - Youth, under 25 years of age ($19):
- All of the benefits listed above, including home delivery of six American Woodturner issues each year, and the Resource Directory every other year. Note that the paper copy Resource Directory is mailed only if members "opt-in" during membership sign-up or renewal.
Member type - Family ($53):
- All of the benefits listed above, at a reduced cost
- For youth age 25 and under
- Free AAW Symposium registration for youth ages 10-18 with accompanying paid adult registration
Member type - Supporting ($250):
- All of the benefits listed above, plus
- Up to three family members living in same household on the membership card
- One copy of the American Woodturner Journal, six issues per year
