Other Gallery and Museum Exhibitions

These are exhibitions that either AAW sponsors, the POP sponsors, or the WOOD (Woodturned Objects On Display) committee facilitates with galleries and museums as well as independently curated exhibitions at galleries and museums. The purpose is to give as much exposure to wood exhibitions as possible. This will benefit artists, collectors, galleries and museums, as well as bring more attention to the AAW as "the place to learn about woodturning art".

  • Michelle Holzapfel's work will be the subject of a special exhibition at the delMano Gallery from Oct 23 through November 21, 2009.
  • Steve Madsen: A World In Wood October 9 - December 19, 2009 at the Wood Turning Center: Madsen's retrospective, organized by the Grounds for Sculpture, Hamilton, New Jersey, is a microcosm of early craft shows, the emergence of craft collecting and lathe turning as an art, the disappearance of exotic woods, the evolution of ideas and methods, and the survival of career artists.
