January 18, 2017

Hello Chapter Officer:

The AAW wants to communicate more effectively with each chapter officer and each chapter's members. Toward this goal, we'll be sending an email like this one each month with useful, value-add communications directed to your chapter president, newsletter editor, and webmaster. Timely AAW news, announcements, and information will be sent separately.

It is important that your chapter provides a current list of officers to AAW. If your chapter has not submitted a chapter officer update in the last 12 months, please do so as soon as possible. If you're in doubt, please submit an update. Click here to submit an update.

As a chapter president, we encourage you to take a moment at your next chapter meeting to share a little bit about AAW. Click one of the following links for talking points to share with your members PowerPoint slide or PDF.

We are making an extra push for new members. An increase in the number of AAW members will enable us to add and enhance services for all AAW members and chapters.

As a chapter president, you can help by taking a minute at your next chapter meeting to invite club members (who are not AAW members) to sign up for a free AAW Guest membership. The fee Guest membership will acquaint them with the publications and services offered by the AAW. Click one of the following links for talking points to share with your members PowerPoint slide or  PDF

Each month we'll furnish you content in the form of articles and tips that you can share in your chapter newsletter.

This month's tip is: Better Success with Jam-Chucking by Chris Wright. Click one of the following links to download this tip in Word.doc, Word.docx, or PDF.

As an official chapter of the AAW, we encourage you to display your AAW affiliation on your chapter's website with a distinctive AAW logo and link to woodturner.org. If your chapter website already displays the AAW logo, please check to make certain it is current. Below are two versions of the AAW logo for your website (hover over logo, right click, and save). If you have questions or problems, contact Kim Rymer at kim@woodturner.org.
