Attendee Checklist







The UPS Store can receive packages on your behalf. Delivery will be at the AAW Symposium Registration Kiosk after 2:30pm on Thursday, June 9. ID will be required for pick up. Prices:

  • 1-25 lbs. $20.00
  • 26-50 lbs. $25.00
  • 51-75 lbs. $35.00
  • 76-100 lbs. $50.00
  • 101-125 lbs. $100.00
  • 126- 150 lbs. $200.00

Prices includes receiving, securing, and storage for up to 3 business days prior to arrival.

The UPS Store will be available at the AAW Symposium on the dates/times below to collect any items AAW attendees wish to ship out. Items can include those purchased at the symposium or personal items such as luggage.

  • Friday, June 10th from 5:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Saturday, June 11th from 5:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Sunday, June 12th from 12:30pm – 2:15pm

There are handling fees, in addition to any packing or shipping charges, based on the weight of the individual packages. The fee schedule is listed below:

  • 1-25 lbs. $10.00
  • 26-50 lbs. $15.00
  • 51-75 lbs. $25.00
  • 76-100 lbs. $40.00
  • 101-125 lbs. $75.00
  • 126-150 lbs. $100.00

Things to Bring

Make, bring along, and display up to three pieces of turned work in the Instant Gallery which will feature more than 1,000 works in wood by woodturners of all skill levels who are attending the symposium. Save time by preregistering your work for the Instant Gallery by May 27.

Create, bring along, and donate a turned work to be sold in AAW's silent benefit auction. Funds raised will be used by the AAW to continue to develop and deliver woodturning education and service programs for our member community. Save time by preregistering your work for the Silent Auction.

Turn, bring along, and donate a bowl of any size to the AAW's Empty Bowls initiative, to benefit a local nonprofit.

Make, bring along, and donate a handmade lidded box to hold the beads of a child coping with serious illness through Beads of Courage.


Bring along and donate surplus and lightly-used woodturning tools to the AAW Tool Bank to help woodturners in need globally. Bowl, spindle, and roughing gouges are most needed. Donations will be accepted at the symposium registration desk, or send your tool donations to the AAW office at 222 Landmark Center, 75 5th St. W., St. Paul, MN 55102.

Sign up to help. Volunteer work can be a great way to give back and get acquainted with others. Many of the opportunities don’t even require turning skills and are perfect for an adult guest or spouse.
