Join us for a visit with the two talented makers selected for this year's Professional Outreach Program (POP) Artist Showcase.
Nicole MacDonald is a second generation woodworker from Montreal who has been active in the visual arts since high school. Through her intricately detailed work she explores the natural world at both micro and macro levels, hoping to inspire viewers' respect for and excitement about our intimate interconnectedness with the environment.
Elizabeth Weber is Seattle-based maker and turning instructor who has always loved wooden objects. In her practice, she adds vibrancy and movement to her turned pieces by using colors and bold surface textures. Elizabeth has a background in civil engineering, and sees parallels between the two, particularly the challenges and problem-solving that woodturning presents.
