James Armstrong, Locust Fork, AL
James “Butch” Dwight Armstrong, age 77, from Locust Fork, AL passed away
in his sleep at home on January 7, 2024. He was born on December 16,
1947. James served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was
devoted to the Pentecostal Holiness church. He attended Jacksonville
State University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting. James went on to attend Birmingham Southern College where he
graduated with a Master’s degree in Accounting. James worked as an
Accountant at Alabama Metal Industries for many years. His passion was
wood working and playing with Max, his beloved shih-tzu. James and Max
love to play fetch with his green ball.
He is survived by
his loving wife of 54 years, Ann Williams of Locust Fork, AL; daughter,
Kara Pate (Darren O’Neal Pate) of Ohatchee, AL; grandchildren, Darren
Elliott Pate and Levi O’Neal Pate; siblings, Larry Armstrong, Sandra
Sullivan, and Katrina Armstrong; nephews, Shane Phillips, Tracy
Phillips, Isaac Armstrong, Tommy Sullivan, and Gracen Armstrong; and
nieces; Nicole Sullivan and Leah Knotts.
He is preceded in
death by his parents; James Claude and Fannie Irene Armstrong; daughter,
Anita Diane Armstrong; and brother-in-law, Micheal Sullivan.
