Volunteer Opportunities

Sign up to volunteer during the AAW Symposium.

The success of every AAW Symposium is due in part to the many individuals who volunteer for a variety of tasks before and during the event. Many volunteers for the 2022 AAW Symposium in Chattanooga are already at work. If you plan to attend the symposium this year, please support this vital effort!

The greatest need right now is for volunteers in these areas: Blind/Visually Impaired Penturning, Instant Gallery, Special Exhibitions, AAW Merchandise, Sales, Registration, Tool Room, Vendor Assistants, Volunteer Booth, and Youth Turning.

Spouses, Partners, Family, Friends, and Relatives

Volunteering is a great opportunity to meet people and be engaged and active. Most volunteer tasks can be done by non-registered attendees. Please encourage people you know to give a few hours of time. Even two hours of time will be appreciated.

Volunteering at the AAW Symposium - Frequently Asked Questions

We encourage you to volunteer to help!

Each year, the AAW Symposium depends on the support of many volunteers. The event would not happen without the generous time and energy from the volunteers. Volunteers who help each year, no matter what city, are a dedicated group! By volunteering, you have the opportunity to:;
  • Support the AAW.
  • Get to know fellow woodturners and others from around the world.
  • Have a great time working with others to make the symposium a success.
  • Receive a symposium volunteer t-shirt.
Please sign up to volunteer and encourage fellow woodturners, family members, and friends to sign up also. In most areas, you do not have to be registered for the symposium or be an AAW member to volunteer.
