Bridging the Gap: The Craft and Art of Turning
AAW's 2022 Member Exhibition
With a playful reference to Chattanooga’s many bridges, the 2022 AAW Member exhibition celebrates the craft and art continuum, highlighting the diversity of styles, techniques, concepts, and approaches that make woodturning an exciting medium.

The Space Between
AAW’s 2022 Professional Outreach Program exhibition and auction
The Space Between features small-scale work by 46 artists from 5 countries and 14 states. As always, the POP exhibition features work by an exciting mix of international, emerging, and established artists. The 2022 theme was drawn from a discussion on the artistic concept of negative space, but the 41 invited and 5 juried artists took the concept in a wide range of directions, from humorous takes on gender differences, to our perception of volume, to meditations on mortality.

Artist Showcase: Melissa Engler and Eli Polite
See why these two amazing and very different artists were chosen for the Artist Showcase. The Artist Showcase recognizes emerging artists with great promise or established artists who have been under-recognized. Selected by the Professional Outreach Program, awardees exhibit their work, present demonstrations, and take part in a panel discussion led by David Ellsworth.

Instant Gallery

Every registered (paid) attendee is welcome to bring three pieces to display in the huge Instant Gallery. Take your time to enjoy the world’s largest display of turned wood. This nearly 30,000 sq.ft. exhibit will amaze and inspire. With work by turners of every level, this is a great chance to see an enormous variety of woodturnings.
