AAW'S 34th Annual International Symposium

COVID-19 and the 2020 AAW Symposium

Due to the seriousness of COVID-19, and adhering to international, federal, and state advisories and legal impossibility mandates, the AAW Board of Directors unanimously approved the cancellation of the 2020 AAW Symposium on March 30, 2020.

Complete details about the cancellation, including process for full registration refunds and future plans, will be provided very soon. As we continue to address the impacts of this challenging situation, we thank you for your patience, understanding, flexibility, and support. We know this is disappointing for all of us, and we thank you for the notes of support we’ve received during this process.

Demonstrator Information 

For demonstrators, we will archive all the information and required forms in one location. You can easily submit forms, check due dates, review orientation meeting times, and find information about topics, including room check and when to pick up your paycheck on this page.

Symposium Registration

Due: February 1, 2020

AAW will enter your complimentary symposium registration. For additional spouse/partner registration or banquet ticket purchase, please contact the AAW office.

Room Check & Orientation 

Onsite: June 4, 2020 at Louisville Convention Center

  • Demonstrator Orientation (room number provided at a later date) 3:30 p.m. EST
  • Demonstrator room check from 4:30 to 6:00  p.m. EST (room numbers provided at a later date)
  • Woodturning filming for short woodturning tips 2:00 to 3:30  p.m. EST (room number provided at a later date)

Lathes, Tools, Equipment, Supplies 

Due: October 13, 2019

Lathe, grinder with Wolverine and Varigrind jigs, videographer, marker board or flip chart, and digital projector with standard inputs are provided for each room. The AAW tool room will have a band saw, drill press, hand drills, and chop saws. Faceshields will be provided. Please complete the equipment form.

  • US Citizens: Complete an IRS W-9 tax form. Form can be downloaded at this link.  Send completed form to AAW Office.

  • Checks will be available onsite Sunday, June, 7th
