Lot 043 - view 2\n\nMichael Allison - "Pierced Ash Hollow Form"\n14" h x 8"w, made from local white ash, pierced, finished with dyes, acrylics and high gloss varnish.\n\nAs a studio wood turner, my artistic goal is to expand the visual impact of wood as a medium. I produce vessels from log sections of locally "found" hardwoods. Each piece of wood contributes unique qualities to the finished creation. The hallmark of my work is to combine the natural properties of wood with vibrant, transparent dyes and high gloss finishes. I also use a variety of other surface treatments including airbrushing, leafing, piercing, texturing and carving.
