Highlights of the 2004 Symposium |

turners recognized in the field

| Demonstrations |
Friday morning will start with opening remarks at 7:45 a.m.,
followed by demonstrations
given on a rotational basis for three
days by international, national, regional, and local talent. Demonstrations
end at 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

Special presentations at the symposium will include:
- Saturday 10:45: Mark Sfirri and Jacques Vesery - Special session on "Collaborations"

Special Local Woodturning Exhibition at the Orlando Museum of Art |
A special local exhibition of Florida Woodturners work will be held at the
Orlando Museum of Art during the entire
month of July. There will be signs at the museum telling the public about the AAW national symposium, and invite the
public to come out to the AAW trade show and the AAW turning gallery. There are 18 Florida turning chapters, and each will
be allowed to exhibit one piece of art for every 15 members in the chapter, thus keeping it fair for the smaller chapters.
Each chapter will vote for the best turnings from their chapter.

Tuesday thru Friday, from 10am to 4pm
Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4pm
(Closed Mondays)

| Trade Show |
Leading manufacturers and suppliers will display tools, equipment,
and supplies of particular interest to woodturners. The Trade
Show is open to the public at no charge. The Trade Show will not be
open on Thursday.

2004 Exhibition pictures from "From Sea to Odyssey"
This wonderful tradition of past symposiums is open to all attendees.
Please bring up to three of your own turned creations to share
with others. The gallery will be open to the public and the community,
as well as to the symposium participants displaying more than 900 pieces.
New this year: Penturner's Instant Gallery

| Bulletin Board and Photo Wall |
A bulletin board is available for people to post messages. Also
a photo wall-anyone is welcome to bring pictures of interesting
or humorous lathes, jigs, tips, or turnings. Also, bring copies
of your chapter newsletter to share.

- Annual Banquet and Auction - Raised over $32,000 for
the educational fund last year.
- Chapter Collaborative Challenge
- "From Sea to Odyssey" Juried Exhibition - the exhibit will be in the
Caribe Royale Convention Center's Boca Rooms. Entry deadline was 3/1/04. There will be an opening reception at the
Caribe Royale Boca Rooms on Thursday July 22nd from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

| Spouse Information |
Spouse Attendance: Special spouse rate of $125 allows
spouses to attend the conference at a reduced rate. NOTE: Spouse
registration is required only if your spouse wishes to attend
the demonstrations.
Spouse/Family Activities: Several daily
chartered tours have been scheduled for "non-turners":
A detailed registration form for the chartered tours is mailed
with the symposium registration.

- Thursday, July 22, 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. - Registration/Check
in at the Caribe Royale Resort Convention Center. (Registration also
on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 7:45 am)
- Saturday, July 24, 5:30 pm to 6:30 PM - Social Hour, followed
by the Banquet/Auction at 7:00 PM at the Caribe Royale Ballroom.
- Friday-Sunday: Rotational Demonstrations, Friday and Saturday,
9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday until 3:15 p.m.
