Title: Green Sea Mermaid

Price: $1,005

Dimensions: 8.5" x 5.5" x 5.5"

Materials: Dyed Box Elder Burl, 24k Gold, Mohair

Other info: Beautiful, brilliant burl eyes burst from every direction, the rich greens and blues of the piece coming alive through the magnificent figure of the wood! Mohair curls are crocheted through the walls of the vessel, streaming downward , drifting in the "currents" of the wood, giving an incredibly sensuous and earthy texture. Natural openings and recesses are gilded with 24k gold leaf, adding mystery and magic to this charismatic piece.

Please note, there is no glue in this piece - the fiber is attached by crocheting through the vessel walls via tiny holes.

Part of my Mermaid Series, please see my series philosophy here.

Title: Tattered Ballerina

Price: $1,250

Dimensions: 7" x 7" x 7"

Materials: Silver Maple, 24k Gold, Satin, Tulle, Organza

Other info: A ballerina on the edge of existence. Broken and tattered though she is, her soul is still powerful, passionate about the dance!

Fractured Silver Maple pieces are painstakingly joined with lengths of pink satin ribbon. Traditional pink and white tutu is crocheted through the wood with ribbon, and edges of the piece are highlighted with 24k gold leaf, adding a subtle sophistication and elegance.

Please note, there is no glue in this piece -- the fiber is attached by crocheting through the vessel walls via tiny holes.

Title: Velvet Lust

Price: $650

Dimensions: 6.5" x 7.75" x 7.75"

Materials: Dyed Box Elder Burl, 24k Gold, Fiber

Other info: An ultra-sensuous piece which begs to be caressed. The surface is silky smooth, interrupted only by luscious velvet fiber called "Touch Me." Reds interplay with burgundies: the heat of passion. Twenty-four karat gold spills generously over slippery surfaces, accenting natural voids and sunken spaces. The ends of the fiber are left long: an invitation to look within the piece, and explore those hidden spaces.

Part of a series combining woodturning with my significant experience as a fiber artist. Please see my artist statement here.
