The AAW Endowment Trust is intended to provide perpetual funds for woodturning education.
Gifts will be broadly invested in a diversified portfolio to produce income to support woodturning education forever. The Memorial Endowment fund is managed by three trustees, appointed by the AAW Board of Directors.
The investment portfolio is designed and managed to generate sufficient income to allow the fund to grow, keep up with inflation, and make 5% available each year to provide woodturning education. The larger the endowment becomes, the more money that will be available for educational grants. Donations to the AAW Memorial Endowment are fully tax-deductible.
In 2008, the AAW Memorial Endowment issued a grant of $4,000 to the Lynwood High School to help them create a woodturning program. This grant allowed the school to purchase mini-lathes & tools and train the teacher to be better equipped to teach the students. This program will offer woodturning education to students for many years to come. This is an example of what your gift will be able to provide every year, forever.
If you would like to have your gift provide education benefits forever and if you believe in the AAW’s mission of providing woodturning education, you can give now or put a bequest in your will.
If you would like to make an immediate tax-deductible donation, mail your check or money order to:
