December 5, 2017

Hello Chapter Officer:

As a chapter officer, the AAW values your continued partnership and collaboration to share, support, and deliver a shared educational mission to those interested in turning wood.

The purpose of this email is to keep you informed about important chapter-AAW initiatives and information we think you'll find beneficial for your chapter and chapter members.

$20 INTRODUCTORY THREE-MONTH MEMBERSHIP (ITM)

The 50% dues discount promotion (April-June 2017) was an overwhelming success. As a result, chapters have asked AAW to develop additional membership incentive programs.

We all know that the most well-rounded woodturning learning experience can be attained through both a local chapter membership and AAW membership - for the TOTAL EXPERIENCE!

AAW's newest membership promotion begins on December 4, 2017, and is a perfect opportunity for your chapter members to give us a try - especially those who have been on the fence about joining the AAW. This new introductory membership enables chapter members who have never been AAW members to test the waters of a full AAW membership for THREE MONTHS FOR JUST $20. If they wish to continue their AAW membership, introductory members will be automatically renewed one time for an additional NINE MONTHS FOR JUST $40. Individuals who have never been AAW members may sign up for a three-month introductory AAW membership using a credit card at http://tiny.cc/ITM2040. Additional material will be provided soon to help you support this new incentive.

SYMPOSIUM REGISTRATION DISCOUNT OFFER FOR CHAPTERS

The AAW has developed a 2018 AAW Symposium registration discount offer for AAW members which extends a SAVINGS OF $25 per symposium registration, or a SAVINGS OF $250 MINIMUM per chapter group. Additionally, chapters that elect to participate will receive one complimentary RESERVED TABLE at the Saturday evening dinner (dinner tickets not included). Chapter members must be registered as part of their chapter group to receive the discount.

VIDEO TIP TO SHARE
We invite you to share AAW's newest Total Experience video tip with your chapter members at an upcoming meeting. Each new video in the Total Experience series includes a brief AAW message and a useful woodturning tip.

In this month's tip, American Woodturner Editor Josh Friend explains how members can get more for their AAW membership using EXPLORE! (TRT 2:52).

To effectively share the video with chapter members, you'll need a bit of technology at your meeting site.

CRAFT SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS - DEADLINE
AAW will award tuition scholarships to selected AAW chapter members for 2018 courses at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts or John C. Campbell Folk School. Chapters must provide the names of nominees, the number of chapter members, and the number of AAW members in the chapter, using the online application not later than January 7, 2018.
