Gulf Breeze Art Inc. met on Tuesday February 2 at 6 pm in the Gulf Breeze Library Meeting Room.
The group had a small business session before the program.
Discussion centered on the upcoming 2016 festival and the need for volunteers.
Important volunteer positions open this year include the Hospitality Chairperson and a tech savvy person to take over the website. The business meeting was followed by a scrumptious snack provided by the members.
This evenings program featured Meredith Doyen, Director of First City Arts. Doyen stressed that the First City Arts is a working Art Center which includes economic growth aspects, cultural growth, art education, art outreach programs, summer camps and glass arts fellowships. Many volunteers help to make First City Art a success.

Thomas uses hickory and birch for his creations.
He says, “I find some of the wood to be thrown away, pieces that I pick up.”
Many intricate shapes and designs can be made by turning wood.
Members agreed this was a very interesting meeting and program.
