Todd Richardson got into woodworking about 5 years ago.
"Found out I was going to have a kid. Decided uh oh, I better do dad-like things and build a crib," says Todd Richardson, Craftsmen. So he "turned" his attention to a unique kind of art.
"Wood turning is a specific form of woodworking where pieces of wood are rotating and you are manipulating tools," says Richardson. Todd liked it enough he joined a club 6 months ago-- the Dakota Woodturners.
"We learn a lot and we help each other out," says Mark Gilbertson, Vice President of the Dakota Woodturners. Wooden objects are created on a stationary tool called a lathe.
"Woodturning is a very old craft that has been going on since people were doing it with their feet. In fact they still do it with their feet in some parts of the world," says Keith Gotschall, Craftsmen visiting from Colorado. (10/02/2015)
